Few days ago, a phone call from a potential client brought to my attention the topic of this article. In this article I just want to briefly touch upon the issue of expired or lost green cards.

A potential client called my office and explained to my assistant that he was out of status for years and wanted to see what his options were. He asked her to schedule his first appointment with me which we generally do not charge for.

When the client came in, it did not take long to determine that he was indeed a legal permanent resident who was under the impression that he is out of status just because his legal permanent resident card (green card) expired a few years ago. He was a permanent resident who got his residency years ago through his parents. He was in possession of a permanent green card which had expired about three years ago. The client was unaware that he could have filed for the renewal of the same.

Tablet Wars

As the “Tablet Wars” heat up and various devices hit the market all with the promise of being the best, I checked out a few to give you a look into the world of Tablets.

This year at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Tablet computers generated a majority of the excitement. In Fact with nearly 20,000 new products being show cased, the product which took best in show among all the categories was a Tablet - the Motorola Xoom. Over 80 different Tablets from different companies were displayed at CES 2011. Vizio, Motorola, Samsung, Asus, RIM and LG were just a few manufactures showing off their lineup but missing from the bunch was Apple and its “I” devices as the company usually doesn’t take part in such events, kind of like Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, they do their own thing & are good at that I must say. Read More

The Banyan Ball 2011

Indo-US Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual gala and awards banquet, The Banyan Ball, on June 4th, 2011 at A La Carte Event Pavilion in Tampa.

This black tie affair, the signature event of the organization, will feature a keynote speaker, entertainment and include business leaders and dignitaries. This has been a sold out event for the past three years. Seating is limited and tickets can be purchased by contacting the Chamber Executives and Board Members (ticket price $125 or $1000 for a table of 10)
